Crayola ColorStudio HD Available Now For iPad

Crayola ColorStudio HD

We still remember vividly the joy and excitement we got from
opening a new packet of Crayola crayons when we were younger – but somehow we
don’t think the experience will be as magical with the new iMarker on the
iPad.

iPad accessory company, Griffin Technology, has announced
the availability of Crayola ColorStudio HD for the iPad, “an accessory and app
combo that blends colouring with cutting-edge mobile technology.” It will pair the
innovatively named iMarker with a free app for the iPad. The iMarker will
combine the functionality of crayon, marker, pen and paintbrush in one digital stylus. Young (or
indeed old) artists will be able to use the stylus in conjunction with an animated
interactive colouring book. The Crayola ColorStudio HD App is able to
differentiate automatically between a child’s finger input (taps, swipes, etc.)
and the input from iMarker.

Crayola ColorStudio HD

“We love creating technology for kids, and our partnership
with Crayola allows us to elevate their signature blend of kid-friendly
creativity into the digital world,” said Mark Rowan, President of Griffin
Technology. “ColorStudio HD is the first of many offerings to come from this
exciting partnership.” As well as the 30 animated colouring pages, pictures,
sound effects and music, your potential Picassos have the option to design an
unlimited number of their own pages using the built-in library of
backgrounds, music, sound effects and other elements. Artwork can then be emailed,
uploaded to Facebook or printed directly from the iPad to any AirPrint-enabled
printer.

The iMarker will set you back 99 but is yet to make an
appearance in the UK, but we’re meeting up with the people from Griffin next
week and will get a chance to use the Crayola ColorStudio HD and we’ll will let you
know what we think.
